Managing Work-Related Stress |
In managing a small- or medium-size business establishment, as much as possible the manager should stimulate a no-stress working environment. He should develop an effective strategy for business and stress management alike. More often than not, employees who are exposed to a stressful working place will not able to achieve the performance expected from them. A study shows that 25 percent of the employee population view their job as the number one stress provider. However, if the manager strategically provides a lively working place, this stress can be reduced or turned into something positive.

Managing Work Stress
There are also external causes of stress, such as a nagging or irritating work colleague. Thus, it is the job of the manager to curb down extreme or unfavourable behaviours. Either he can approach the irritating employee or the affected one, or both of them. The stress can be curbed down, too, by an occasional team building session or a fun activity. This is the time when the employees can voice out their frustrations that have been affecting their work.
